Dear reader!

There I sit on 25.10.2010 in the "job team project " or "Perspective 50 - plus" and start the book, which, if all goes well, will be ready in eight weeks. Bummelig every two years is held to a more or less meaningless measure to end unemployment of the Hartz IV recipients. I will not complain, this space is too small here, and the theme is another. I am talking about resistance against right. The topic of unemployment play the Nazis as recorders. The one let creative workers swear against social parasites and the other making mood - poor against foreigners and against all "rapacious capitalists." Really for the NPD and others the needy are only useful as votes. After the election, they show their true colors. The impositions of rights do not diminish. A torchlight procession through Meldorf, 2010, the statements of the former bank manager Sarrazin against migrant women and the unemployed and the roman decadent omissions of Foreign Minister Westerwelle toll a new attack against democracy.

I'm trying a compilation of informations 1933-1944. My conclusion I anticipate. North Germany played a central role in the construction of National Socialism to 1933. I prove that the crucial pioneers for what was to come were Dithmarsians. From the examples it also appears, that the Dithmarsian and Meldorfer Nazis were especially stubborn, brutal and inhuman. The sad thing is that this all seems completely unknown and there appear no evidence in the city. A whitewashed canvas suggests the misconception of a citizenship of upright, peaceful and philanthropic residents and neighbors. This film is torn. The list of names of the victims and injured parties on one side and the perpetrators and profiteers on the other side becomes longer by the day. And all have benefited, so all participated. And the screen may tear open again at any time. Therefore, the upright, peaceful humanitarians must never forget this.

Only three monuments can be a clue here as it would have "something" given. One thinks of the POWs and the other warns against wars and despotism. Both are right and left between the police station and district court. The third is in the cemetery and is surrounded by stone slabs on which are the names of slave labor. A tribute to the stubborn and proud Dithmarsians, which were, despite the hopeless situation in the resistance or attracted attention with their "deviant behavior", is still not an issue.

This book was created to lead to the processes in the presence, that receive too little attention. An increasing common cold relation between people, increasing contempt towards weaker, and admiration of right-wing ideology. That the surviving victims are now around 80 years and were never known and appreciated, let alone compensation received is as much a scandal as that the perpetrators were able to live undetected, especially in the north, furthermore being honored. My parents told very little about the "bad" time. We all grew up blue-eyed. Then at school (although little) and more recently by the opening of the archives and the Internet some was known. Nor does it explain the fact that the children and grandchildren of the Nazi period also keep quiet. "Opi was not a criminal," they called during the "Crimes of the Wehrmacht" exhibition in 2001. Ask your parents, "why did you not tell me?" Then the answer comes, "I was born in 45 and have nothing to do with this". As if it were a question, and not why the III. Empire was at all possible. Ask them what we can do today? And they tell you, it will never happen again. Even so this attitude has made Nazism possible.

Thanks to the team "resistance and persecution in Nazi Dithmarsian" for its persistent occurrence all the years, most recently with the installation of stumbling stones in Heide, Meldorf and Burg/ Dithmarachen by the artist Demnig. They are to mark the residences or workplaces of the victims of the fascists to make the lockstep of silence stumble. Without the assets here the book would never have been published. Beside that, the "alliance against right-wing" in Heide is worth mentioning, which publishes a list of neo-Nazi attacks in Dithmarschen regularly since 2006, and on 1. of may 2005 as the only ones have opposed the fascists, while the city of Heide and the Dithmarschen maintained a disinformation operation against the anti-fascists, to enable their rights march on the city bridge.

The heart of the book, the main stories of "Frederick William Jasper" and "Frederick Jansen" are from Jan Klabunde, the essays on "Constable", "Bruhn", "Behrend" and "Wehrwolf" I have from the archives in the basement of the Dithmarsian Museum, the "Constable" report is based on a lecture by Gerhard Paul. The top of the structure to 1933 resulted from the use of the books of Rietzler, Pfeil, Harder, Biel, and others.
